Bengaluru: If HD Kumaraswamy decides to run in the Lok Sabha election, he is considering contesting from the Mandya Lok Sabha seat. However, party sources have indicated that it is not the appropriate time to engage in discussions about this matter.

Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda is highly unlikely to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, and the JD(S) is expected to field candidates on four out of the 28 seats. In a recent development, former PM HD Deve Gowda and HD Kumaraswamy met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday. During the meeting, discussions revolved around the alliance, and JD(S) leaders are anticipated to meet with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President J P Nadda next week. The final decision on seat sharing and strategies for jointly contesting the election will be addressed during these discussions, as per reliable sources.
